Dear Friends of Healing Music, Happy Summer! I hope that you are all enjoying this glorious weather!!!! Beautiful greenery, blue skies, gentle breezes and sweet chirping birds...... Life is good! I am having a fabulous summer! Lots of lovely events, lovely people, lovely energy!!! As part of the Music Can Heal Summer Concert series I played with Chris Gartner at Earle Bales Park. It was quite magical - the forest comes right up to the back of the stage - we played with the trees!! There are more free concerts throughout the summer: www.musiccanheal.org I so enjoyed my time at Ravens Ridge playing at the Soulstice Festival. Here is a photo of me and Mark Daniel. We were serenaded by birds and frogs as we played - magical! I look forward to more events at Ravens Ridge - a magical place! The following week I was so grateful to help facilitate a beautiful, light filled Labyrinth event hosted by the Labyrinth Network here in Toronto. www.labyrinthnetwork.ca I had a lovely Ottawa trip. Played with Mark Daniel at Kalyana Yoga Studio, attended a serene Japanese Tea Ceremony with Rebecca Cragg at Camellia House and the final fun was a Pre CD Launch fundraiser hosted by Wendy Morrell. We listened and danced to the new CD (the one I am doing with Chris Gartner) and then had strawberry shortcake and champagne!!!!! WOW Thanks to all who attended the party and special thanks to Wendy for her magical party skills! Here I am with Rebecca Cragg in her beautiful backyard - our August 21 concert will be here!! This boat is a novelty attraction at Toronto Island and they will be guiding us around the island on Saturday, August 27 for a Healing Cruise. Please see poster. And Sunday, August 28 brings me to Kensington Market to play for Music Can Heal to help raise awareness for our palliative care group. A free event, 2:00 to 3:00pm. I will be playing in front of my favourite store, Orbital Arts. September - please mark your calendars for a Music Meditation in Ottawa at Kalyana on September 10. PROJECT UPDATES   The Sleep Program is almost ready for launching!! Still working on some technical things, almost ready....... USB STICKS - we are now offering our library on USB sticks! NEW Meditation Classes I am now offering Meditation Classes for adults and children. These are private sessions. 30 minutes for children and 60 minutes for adults. We have had some lovely 'non-shakuhachi' musicians join us in the past. Please let me know if you would like details. Last year we celebrated our 10th anniversary! A delightful time was had by all. Participants will be invited to sit or to join in a meditative walk with music/dancers weaving throughout the space. After the performance we will sit together and enjoy the sunset. This year we are inviting folks to be a part of the dance at Remic Rapids. No dance experience is necessary. Wendy Morrell, the president of the Sacred Dance Guild, will be leading the dance. There is a rehearsal on August 18th, 7:00pm, at Bells Corners United Church.
